If all goes well, all police stations in the taluk will soon get electronic beating system (e-beat), in order to upgrade and strengthen the security set-up.
The system has already been implemented in a total of 58 places under Banakal police station limits, including 24 villages and sub-villages.
The system is now, being extended to all villages and some selected public places in Kalasa, Gonibeedu, Banakal, Balooru, Moodigere police station limits, official sources said.
According to this system, it is mandatory for the the personnel on night patrolling to send regular messages to the nearby police station regarding the details of their patrolling in a specified area.
e-beating equipments will be installed at certain specified places so that information can be disseminated to the personnel on beat and also the house owners, if required, the sources said. Through setting up this system at 5-6 places in a layout in urban areas, theft and robbery incidents can be prevented to a maximum extent, they observed.
If e-beat information is not recorded at a particular station, it is understood that personnel deputed on that area for patrolling have not been functioning properly. In such cases, those personnel will be held responsible for the untoward incidents in the specified area, police officials informed.
