Krishnebyregowda urged to quit Congress
From H H Dayanand,DH News Service,Kolar:

Groupism is flaring its head in the Congress party in the district and the differences among various leaders is coming into the open. This is showing that everything is not all right with the party.
The latest turn of events has fuelled these thoughts further. In one of the major developments, the State Youth Congress leader’s name was announced. Everyone here had thought that it was a foregone conclusion that Vemgal legislator C B Krishnabyregowda would be the automatic choice for the post. However, due to the alleged influence of a top local leader in Delhi, the whole process got derailed and this has led to a lot of heart-burn among the followers of Krishnabyregowda.
After Sadanand Dangannavar was appointed the State Youth Congress president, the supporters of Krishnabyregowda met at his residence on Monday and charged openly that it was Union Minister K H Muniyappa who was responsible for their leader to lose the post.
In the light of this, his supporters are putting pressure on him to quit Congress and join JD(S), it is said.
More than 300 party workers had participated in the meeting. In front of Krishnabyregowda himself the workers vented their ire against the injustice caused to him. Meanwhile, Krishnebyregowda made it clear that he was not disappointed about him not getting the post. However, he said that he was disappointed at the people who had worked against him.
But, he said that in the light of this he was not interested in quitting the party as there were bound to be such problems in the JD(S) too.
“If we go on shifting loyalties then people would not have respect for us,” he told his supporters.
But the leaders have to find solution to the way things were going on in the party. Otherwise the party would lose heavily, he said.
Hence, it was decided that a meeting should be held with the legislator K Srinivasagowda, MLC V R Sudarshan and others to sort out the issue.
But according to party workers, last time when Union Minister Muniyappa won it was the 65 votes extra he got from Vemgal constituency that made a difference to his winning. This Muniyappa cannot forget, they charged.
Muniyappa who had earlier acknowledged the people of Vemgal constituency after the election results, today was however, singing a different tune. He is working against the interest of Krishnebyregowda, they said expressing their displeasure.
ZP member Balaji Chennaiah, Nagnal Somanna, Chathrakodihalli R Munegowda, taluk panchayat member Udayashanker Ramegowda, Parthasarathy and others were present at the meeting.
