Former Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer's wife, Gill, on Wednesday said she and her family were relieved to learn that there was no foul play in her husband's death.
"My sons and I are relieved to be officially informed that Bob died of natural causes and that no foul play is suspected in his death," Gill Woolmer said in a statement here.
She hoped that the matter will now be treated as closed and the family kept out of the media glare.
"We hope that this matter will now be closed and that our family will be left to grieve in peace," Woolmer's widow said.
Jamaican police today announced that the 58-year-old Englishman had died of natural causes and not murdered, bringing to a close a nearly three month-long investigation.
Several speculative theories had spawned regarding the circumstances of the death, including strangulation and poisoning. However, Jamaican police ruled out any foul play.
