Govt to Ayurveda college’s aid
Banglore, dhns: Minister for Medical Education Dr V S Acharya on Tuesday announced that Rs 2.8 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a students men's hostel and for the development of various other infrastructure facilities at the Government Ayurveda College.
Speaking at the inauguration of Students Association, Prerna at the Government Ayurveda Medical College, Dr Acharya said the PWD will shortly call for tenders for the construction of the hostel. He added that funds have been allocated for setting up of a new hall at the Government Ayurveda College hospital and will shortly provide vehicles to the college for students to undertake research activities in rural areas.

Udupi, dhns: “Blue films are shown and gambling goes on in the guest house in Kollur,” alleged Udupi Zilla Panchayat Vandse constituency member H Manjaiah Shetty, here on Tuesday, at the ZP general meeting.
Manjaiah Shetty, who had in the earlier four ZP meetings raised the issue of violations in appointment of staff in Kollur Mookambika temple, dropped a bomb shell on Tuesday by making these allegations in the meeting. But the Kollur temple administrator said that reservation had been followed.
Contractors plan stir
Bangalore, dhns: The Karnataka licensed electrical contractors have cried foul over giving electrical contracts to some major companies from outside Karnataka, thus rendering them unemployed.
They have decided to launch protests against KPTCL across the State.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Karnataka State licensed Electrical Contractors’ Association President Prakash Chandrashekhar Angadi announced this at a press conference here on Tuesday.
Bar council to meet minister
Bangalore, dhns: Taking into account the growing number of cases pertaining to atrocity on advocates, the State Bar Council has decided to meet the Law Minister and hold discussions with him.
