KBN bags first prize
The students of BE VIII semester, Instrumentation Tehcnology branch of the Bhaja Banda Nawaz College of Engineeing, Gulbarga, Sijo P.G., Avinash and Sripad Kulkarni, had participated in the Technivision 2007, students projects exhibition, organised by the PDA Engineering Colege of Gulbarga. The project `Seed recognition using digital image processing’ exhibited by the students has secured the fitrst place in the exhibition.
Rameshwar felicitated
The admirers and well wishers of well known children poet A K Rameshwar are organising a felcitation volume on the occasion of his completing 75 years of age.
   The felicitation committee is headed by Afzalpur MLA M Y Patil and B K Chalageri is the vice president. Committee member Dr Swamyrao Kulkarni said that a meeting will be soon convened to finalise the details of the felicitation programme.
Commissioner for GUDA
Kashinath Gokhale has taken over as the new commissioner of the Gulbarga Urban Development Authority (GUDA).  Gulbarga Maha Nagara Palike Commissioner S P Mudhol, who was holding the additional charge of the GUDA post, handed over the same to the new incumbent. Gokhale, has said that construction of the Suvarna Karanataka Complex Building and compehensive development of Gulbarga would be his top priorities.
Chaitanya scheme
Devaraj Urs Backward Classes Devlopment Corporation has invited applications from the eligible backward classes candidates for availing loans under the Chaitanya scheme. Application forms can be obtained from the Office of the District Manager of the Corporation, an official release said.
