Promising to take up the cause of distribution of BPL card to beneficiaries in the upcoming sessions, former deputy CM and MLA Siddaramaiah said government had failed to prioritise its duties towards its people.
He was speaking at the event organised by Dalita Sangharsha Samithi at Ekalavyanagar after flagging off facilities like drinking water, street lights and rural bus services. “The coalition government has not been able to distribute ration cards to poor and deserving. I have been stressing on the need for this ever since, but nothing has been done. The government has messed up with the distribution of cards. Now, it is trying to cover up by doing village stays, Vikasa Yatre and other things without providing even gruel to the hungry. This is a government of liars,” he said.
He said he would also fight on behalf of the residents to retain the land they are residing on for themselves. “The litigation pertaining to this land is in Supreme Court. I will try to help your case by speaking to the Advocate General to consider your case from human aspect,” he said

I will request the Tahsildar to issue cards for the rest as well. Facilities like street lights, Cauvery water to drink and bus for commuting have been granted. I shall also request the officials to start a primary school in the area. Please send your children to school and educate them. Don’t go into life without focus. You are living amidst difficulties earning your bread through your art. I promise, I will provide you will all basic amenities when our government comes into power during next elections,” he said.
