Kumar Performing Arts Centre is organising the rangapravesha of B Chitra on June 17, said Founder Director of the institution and national award winner K Kumar.
The programme will take place at Jaganmohan Palace at 4.30 pm. It will be inaugurated by Cine actress and MLA Umashri and presided by University of Mysore Fine Arts College Professor K Sumitrabai.
Vidwan Late K S Mani Iyer will be posthumously honoured on the occasion, he said.
Also, Vidwan P Ravindra Sharma, R Kannan, and theatre personality Kikkeri J Narayan will be felicitated.
Former MLA M B Lakshminarayana, Kollegal MLA S Balraj and Malavalli constituency MLA  K Annadani will be the chief guests of the occasion. Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Halathi Somashekar will participate.
The institution has been organising 17 rangapraveshas since the last 21 years. B Chitra has been a dance student for the past 8 years.
She has passed the Karnataka Education Board Senior Bharathanatyam exam with first class.
