Rock the night away

Radio Indigo has allied with more than 30 pubs and lounges in Bangalore. Every week a refreshing and innovative theme will be brought out, bringing the best of all genres of music – rock, hip-hop, rap, jazz & blues, retro, reads a press release.

Rock n Roll, Jive and Disco takes over the dance floor on June 14. Traverse through the 60's, 70's and 80's with the 'Retro Nite' edition of Indigo Thursdaze at  Casa del Sol, Devatha Plaza, Residency Road, 8 pm onwards.

Workshop on acting

The Foundation workshop’s two new workshops on acting by Ratan Thakore Grant starts on June 18. The workshop, spread over 10 sessions between 7 pm and 9pm at Tunbridge High School, 86 Infantry Road (opp. Safina Plaza) is for those who have completed the Foundation Programme or have prior acting experience.

This is an intensive journey, taking the actor from natural to real. This starts June 23.
Both workshops culminate in presentations, with participants utilising the techniques learnt in an actual performance in front of an audience. At this stage, they script, act in and direct their own sketches and plays.

Blood donation camp

Amit Agarwal, an individual participant of Landmark education, is doing a course called ‘Self express and leadership program’. As a part of the course guidelines, Amit has to undertake a community project and he chose to conduct blood donation camps for corporates.

The first blood donation camp has been planned for June 14, in association with Red Cross Society of India, which will provide the necessary equipments. The camp is being conducted at the premises of 24/7 customer.com, a BPO, on Intermediate Ring Road, from 4 pm to 9 pm. Incidentally, June 14 is ‘World Blood Donors’ Day’. Language classes

Language enhancement workshops are conducted by inlingua Bangalore every month. This month’s workshop on the topic of pronunciation, will be held on Saturday, June 16 between 10 am and 12 noon. Play at AFB

Workshop Productions, a new Bangalore-based theatre group, is all set to stage its second play called ‘Let’s Have Sex’, written by Valentine Krasnogrov and directed by Amjad Prawej, on June 15-16 at Alliance Francaise. The characters are driven by human emotions — loneliness, yearning for love, desire to escape problems — they never get past discussing or arguing about their favourite subject.

Says the girl: "People can sit in the same office for a hundred years, meet each other at parties, drink together and go to picnics every weekend, but that won't make them as close as a single night spent together." But for Krasnogorov's characters, consummation — however devoutly desired — remains elusive. The play is a comic and philosophical tour-de-force from a master of the Russian stage. Dance workshop

Abhinaya—The Mysore School of Bharathanatyam will be conducting ‘The Guru Padmabhushan Dr K Venkatalakshamma’ memorial workshop from June 20 to 30  between 10:30 am to 1pm by Lalitha, director, Nupura school of Bharathanatyam at Ananya Sabhangana, 91/2 4 main, Malleshwaram.

Teachers or students above 16 years of age and have passed senior exam or performed Rangapravesha may apply before June 15 with a photo to the director, 4, 12 cross, Malleshwaram.

Free medical camp
