No Sanitary line provided
Several written representations and e-mails have been sent to Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Chairman of BWSSB, Bangalore. Though we have been told that the sanitary lines will be laid down under Package Scheme this piece of work is left out.

The entire ward No.100 (Sanjaynagar main road) has a sanitary line  except a piece of about 500 metres which is left out from Aswathnagar Bus Stop to CPRI Power House.  Residents of both the sides of Sanjaynagar Main Road have been facing a lot of difficulties all these years for want of the same.

Several written representations and  e-mails have been sent to  Chief Minister of Karnataka and the Chairman of BWSSB, Bangalore.  We have been told that  the sanitary lines will be laid down under Package Scheme.  But to our misfortune, this piece of work is left out.  The reason is best known to the authorities.

The sanitary line comes right from Bhoopasandra, Nagasettihalli, Sanjaynagar, Geddelahalli  to Aswathnagar Bus Stop  and stops leaving  the balance of about 500 metres from Aswathnagar Bus stop to CPRI power house of the main road.

I hope this civic problem gets immediate attention.

Software companies vested interest

I feel HAL Airport must be closed once new BIAL Airport starts functioning for several reasons. First of all, it's simply a contractual obligation.  While Government is struggling to attract investment in the infrastructure sector, it simply sends wrong signals to future investors if Government goes back on its promise to close down the old Airport succumbing to the pressure of certain lobbyists.

It is surprising to see top business houses pressurising the Government to go back on its own commitment.  Don't forget, BIAL has made huge investments though the design of the airport is very disappointing.

It is also stupid to compare Bangalore to other cities that have more than one airport.  Any one who have seen these cities realise that each of these cities handle more traffic than the entire air traffic of India, it is perfectly viable to have many airports in these cities as they are financially viable!

World's busiest airport- Atlanta's Hartford handles more than eighty million passengers a year, and they don't talk about building another airport there. Those of us who used to travel to India in the past cannot forget the transit nightmares in Mumbai until recently.

Many times we have postponed travel plans just because of those problems.  If Bangalore wants to become a true international hub, excellent infrastructure should be developed in one location. How is a passenger going to reach domestic airport to take a flight to his hometown after alighting in the International airport?

It's only the idea of few software companies to keep HAL airport open only for their own vested interests, not the interest of developing the Bangalore hub.  It will be nice of them if they rather spend their time and energy to pressurise the Government to put the necessary road and rail infrastructure in place to further develop Bangalore air hub.

New airport has been in making for several years now, and if the Government  does not bother to develop the necessary road conectivity, why penalise the BIAL for it's failures? Finally our Governments never had a vision for the future.  If HAL airport is kept open, pressure on them eases, they may never bother to develop the connectivity to the new airport.

Legacy and lineage of Mahatma

It is quite inexplicable that none of the children, grand- children or even great -grand -children of Mahatma Gandhi -who led the independence struggle from the front ever made to the political throne of Delhi-while much lesser mortals claiming lineage to the struggle through circuitous route have been enjoying  power for long.

Even the look -alike daughter of the indomitable Subhash Bose who sacrificed everything for our freedom has been forgotten. However our elected representatives have become much wiser now &  are grooming their children to take on the family business of serving the people-unlike the great martyrs of our freedom struggle.

Puppet CM?

After all the political turbulence, Goa has a new Chief Minister but will he survive this monsoon is the
big question. In a well orchestrated match fixed move, in place is a puppet Chief Minister Digambar Kamat who
will be remote controlled and manipulated by former Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane and Goa Regional Plan
2011 mastermind Vishwajeet Rane in conjunction with the other ever so ambitious coalition partners.

This unholy ruptured coalition that was born out of a fractured mandate has already started swearing at each other. With the race for plumb portfolios in top gear Digambar Kamat will stumble in the balancing act.

As anticipated every vote for the Congress was a vote for political instability. The mess has just erupted. Stay tuned, as the worse is yet to come. Goans will have to watch with anguish their State being further raped by the corrupt, communal, casteist and highly indisciplined Goa's Congress party. As Goa continues to be a laboratory for political experiments, the chaos and decay of the State continues.

Safety pin in baby's chest

It is shocking to read that the doctors at KIMS, Hubli took four days to tell the parents of the baby who had swallowed a safety pin that they did not have necessary equipment to remove it [DH 10/06/07]. Crores of rupees are being spent on this institute during the year. The higher ups should investigate the matter whether it is a case of negligence or the parents were too poor to pay the fees or whether such cases cannot be handled at the institute.

N.A.Saudagar, Hubli
