GANDHINAGAR GRAPEVINE
S N DEEPAK

Belle from Dubai
Guess who’s the attraction of star director Prem’s forthcoming film Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide. Mallika Sherawat? No, we are talking about Namratha, one of the two heroines of the film. What caught our attention when producer Ashwini Ramprasad and Prem introduced her to film journos, is the fair babe’s attitude. When asked about her role in the film, the belle quipped: “You will see it on screen when the film releases”. Not only this, she went on to add: “I believe in silence. You watch it on screen”.
An interior design student, Namratha, is based in Dubai. Her family lives there, except her father who is in China. She came to Mumbai to explore opportunities in the glam world. Namratha is full of praise for actor-director Prem. “He is focussed and talented”, she says. Namratha only knows Hindi and English and is clueless about Kannada language. According to both Ramprasad and Prem, her “language problem” substantially contributed to the film’s delay!

PYBM release
Meanwhile, PYBM producer Ramprasad said the film would be released on August 24, as scheduled. The picturisation of two songs and some talkie portions are remaining and they will shot by this month-end. The post production activities are going on simultaneously. Prem wants to shoot a Bangalore Habba song on a large scale by using 500 folk artistes from all over Karnataka for eight days. He doesn’t think acting is difficult. “But direction is my cup of tea”, he feels. “Making a lot of people act day in and day out is a tough task. And moreover, language is also a problem. I have to correct every one as they are all new”, he explains. What does he feel about his acting? “It’s okay. I will not take rest till I am satisfied. I have not used glycerine to cry in the scenes and I have done real stunts”.
The producer-director duo also utilised the occasion to rubbish the rumours that there is any ill-will between them.

100 days
Duniya’, the tale of the murky underworld, completed hundred days recently. A colourful programme organised to mark the occasion at Palace Grounds, saw the attendance of both film stars and the cinebuffs. Power Star Puneeth said, “Soori’s Duniya is great. It’s a wonderful and beautiful Duniya. We are also a part of this success as the services of production unit Poornima Enterprises was utilised for the film.”
“Getting success by making rowdism cinema is really difficult nowadays. In fact, I have become a huge fan of Soori after I watched the film,” Hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar said.
“Our dream has come true today. We all used to dream of a big success which we have achieved today,” were the heartfelt words of Golden Star Ganesh, who is getting drenched in the stupendous success of Mungaru Male. Comedy King Jaggesh and actor-producer Raghavendra Rajkumar also showered praises on the film’s cast and crew.
The dance performance by Ashitha, Neetha, Gokul, Yogeesh and team was the highlight of the event. Mementos were distributed to those who worked for the film.
