A mass marriage ceremony was organised as part of Legislator Shamanoor Shivashankarappa’s 77 birthday celebrations, by  S S Mallikarjuna Abhimani Balaga in Davangere.
Addressing the gathering at the ceremony on Thursday, Seer of Sanehalli mutt Panditaradhya Swamiji said, working hard is way to health and wealth.
Success follows hard work combined with self-confidence and social commitment, the seer said. Commending the organisations for holding a free mass marriage ceremony, the seer said such programmes are a boon for the poor.
Maintaining harmony in family is important while pursuing success in life and mutual understanding is an essential component of fulfiling conjugal relationship, Shivashankarappa told the newly wed couple.
Former minister S S Mallikarjun, S S Ganesh, Prabha Mallikarjun, Bapooji Education institution’s treasurer A C Jayanna, Jayadevapp, ZP Health and Education Standing Committee President Dr Y Ramappa were also present on the occasion. As many as 101 couples tied knot.
