Promoted as Lieutenant
Ashwin M Rao of Karkala has been promoted as Lieutenant in Indian Navy after completion of two years training at Jamnagar in Gujarat, informed a press release.
Lt Rao, who is currently serving in Cochin, is a former student of Nitte engineering College and the son of the teacher couple S Padi Manohar Rao and Savitri M Rao of Karkala, informed a press release.
Probus Club president
Annual General Meeting of Probus Club (An organisation for senior citizens) was held on June 6 at Roshini Nilaya. President Octavia Albuquerque welcomed the gathering and Secretary Joan Goveas read the annual report.
 According to a press release, Dean of Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Dr C V Raghuveer was the chief guest and Roshni Nilaya Principal Dr Jacintha D’Souza was the guest of honour.
