In yet another case of negligence, the Karnataka High School Examination Board has not even evaluated the ‘B’ part of the Science paper of a girl student in this year’s SSLC examination.
The victim is N B Shruthi of SVS English Medium School in Davangere.
A bright student, Shruthi had scored over 90 marks in every subject except Science, in which she scored only 60.
Continued negligence
It has now come to light that the evaluators had not even seen the ‘B’ part of the paper, which carries 26 marks.
The teachers of the school say that Shruthi would have scored at least 25 out of 26 marks in Part ‘B’.
The evaluators had not noticed the mistake even during totalling.
Now, Shruthi’s parents are planning to go to the court against the Board.
Delay
Though Shruthi had applied for a copy of the answer script on April 28, it reached her only on June 14.
But, now that the admission process for the diploma course is over, Shruthi’s dreams have been shattered, says Basavarajappa, her father.
Generally, the Board sends the true copy of the answer script within a week of applying.
Changing course
However, this time it took nearly two months. Dejected, Shruthi has now joined the PCMB course in a City college.
“I had to abandon my dream.”
“The evaluators have spoiled my future by not doing the evaluation properly,” Shruthi told Deccan Herald.
