Vodafone Essar sets upon a new innings

The reconstituted board of the new entity will have Mr Ravi Ruia of Essar Group as Chairman, Mr Arun Sarin, CEO of Vodafone, as Vice-Chairman and Mr Asim Ghosh as Managing Director.

The Vodafone-Hutchison Essar integration process got under way with the reconstituted board having eight nominees from the Vodafone side and four from the Essar Group.
Accordingly, the reconstituted board of the new entity will have Mr Ravi Ruia of Essar Group as Chairman, Mr Arun Sarin, CEO of Vodafone, as Vice-Chairman and Mr Asim Ghosh as Managing Director, while other six nominees from Vodafone side are Mr Paul Donovan, Mr Gavin Darby, Mr Vittorio Colao and Mr Robert Barr, and Mr Analjit Singh and Mr C R Dua as independent directors.  Essar side in the new entity — apart from Mr Ravi Ruia as Chairman — is represented by Mr Prashant Ruia and Mr Anshuman Ruia, both sons of Essar Group Chairman Shashi Ruia, and Mr Vikash Saraf of Essar Telecom.
