Most of the killed were police officers, he said, adding some civilians were among the dead. The police bus was smashed, with only metal frameworks being left while at least two civilian buses were also damaged partly.
Shattered glass, metal, flesh, bloodstain were seen scattered all around. Sunday's attack is one of the most deadly bombings after the Taliban regime collapsed in late 2001.
Media reports said several foreigners were among the killed. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the explosion. Due to inadequacy of weapons and less battle effectiveness, the Taliban has been frequently carrying out roadside and suicide bombings against government and foreign forces.
This is the second bombing attack in the past two days in Kabul. A suicide bombing killed four civilians and injured four in west Kabul Saturday. The same day, a suicide bombing killed two civilians and injured six in Mazari Sharif city in the relatively peaceful northern Afghanistan. Rising Taliban-linked insurgency has claimed over 2,100 lives in Afghanistan this year.
