Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Sunday said he was living a healthy life despite giving away one of his kidneys many years ago.
“Nobody should be afraid of giving away a kidney. I am sitting before you. I gave away my kidney many years ago and I am sitting here hale and hearty and will be amidst you two or four years more,” he said after laying the foundation of a kidney hospital here.
“To save a life is equivalent to giving life,” he remarked. In his brief address, he also spoke about modern life style that he said has become a cause of bad health.
He said they were inadequate health care facility as compared to address the requirement the burgeoning population of the country.
