Rs 65 lakh for school revival
Minister for primary and secondary education Basavaraj Horatti has said that Rs 65 lakh would be sent for the revival of the century-old Asif Gunj Government Primary School at old vegetable market in the Super Market area in the town.

Horatti who visited the school with Afzalpur on Monday said 10 rooms will be constructed along the compound wall. “Though we wanted to shift the school to a better place, the school development and management committee opposed to it. They have sentimental feelings. To honour their sentiments, we have decided to retain the school at the same spot and re-construct it’’ Horatti explained.

He said the office of the BEO North Zone housed in the school premises will be shifted to some other place and the adjacent land belonging to the police department will be availed for construction of an exclusive entrance to the school.
