Akheel, Sharan set up win
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Akheel and Sharan took two wickets apiece as Bishop Cotton Boys’ School crushed St John’s High School by nine wickets in an under-17 league tie of the Cottonian Shield cricket tournament at the Bishop Cotton school grounds on Tuesday.
Batting first, St John’s were never in the hunt after being restricted to a modest 77 for nine from their 25 overs. While Sharam picked up two for 16 from five overs, Akheel returned figures of two for 13 from his four overs, the lone pocket of resistance coming from Karthik who made 23.
Cottons fairly raced to their target, reaching 80 for one midway through the seventh over. The impetus was provided by Ashwin as they pulled off a commanding victory.
In the under-14 category, there were wins for Presidency School, RT Nagar and Clarence High School.
While Presidency trooped out ten-wicket winners over St John’s High School, Clarence got the better of Bethany High School by seven wickets.
Brief scores: U-17: St John’s High School: 77/9 in 25 overs (Sharan 2-16, Akheel 2-13) lt to Bishop Cotton Boys’ School: 80/1 in 6.3 overs (Ashwin 29).
U-14: Bethany High School: 122 all out in 28 overs (Shreyas 34, Ashwin 29; Prajwal 3-0, Zohar 3-21) lt to Clarence High School: 127/3 in 21 overs (Suman 58 n.o.).
St John’s High School: 69 all out in 20.1 overs (Kaushik 3-6) lt to Presidency School, RT Nagar: 70/0 in 5.4 overs (Abhishek 32 n.o.).
