The Division Bench of High Court hearing the appeals by derecognised primary schools, has deferred its order till June 25. The Bench which was to pass orders on the appeals on Tuesday, adjourned it while seeking to refer the Full Bench proceedings in the case against 1994 language policy.
The counsels for some of the appellant school managements contended before the Bench comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Justice B S Patil that many issues raised in their case was being dealt with in the language policy case. The order on the long-pending case filed by private school managements against the 1994 policy, making mother tongue or Kannada in primary education compulsory, has been reserved by a HC Full Bench.
Following this, the Bench adjourned the matter to June 25, saying it would refer to the proceedings of the Full Bench before passing orders on the appeals.
Committee
The Court has constituted a committee headed by former HC judge Justice R G Viadyanathan to temporarily conduct the business of Mysore Lighting Works Ltd, a company consisting of various ancillary units of Mysore Lamps Ltd.
The Bench comprising Justice V Gopala Gowda and Justice N Anand also passed an interim order directing that the an AGM should be convened to decide the fate of the existing Board of Directors.
