Excess rain in only 4 districts

Only four districts in the state have, till June 17, received excess rainfall since the onset of south-west monsoon on May 29, says a report from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics.

Chitradurga, Mandya, Mysore and Gadag districts have received excess rainfall. The rainfall is said to be normal Kolar, Tumkur, Chamarajanagar, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bidar, Bagalkot and Uttar Kannada districts and deficient in Chickmagalur, Kodagu, Bellary, Gulbarga, Belgaum and Dharwad.

It was scanty in Bangalore Rural, Shimoga, Hassan, Koppal, Raichur , Bijapur and Haveri districts.

Bangalore Urban and Davangere did not receive rainfall, according to the report.
