The State government on Tuesday constituted two committees to select Kannada movies for subsidies and for the annual film award for the year 2006-2007. Noted directors Girish Kasaravalli and Nagathihalli Chandrashekar will chair these two committees respectively.

Giraddi Govindaraj (writer), Prof K E Radhakrishna (educationist), C Basavaralingaiah (theatre artist), B N Subramanya (journalist), Banu Mushtaq (writer) and Vijaya Kumar (secretary, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce) will be the members of the committee on film subsidy.

Whereas the committee on film awards consists of Ramakrishna (actor), Ismail (journalist), B S Basavaraju (cinematographer), KCN Kumar (Producer), Na Damodara Shetty (writer) and Shashidhar Udupa (Art director), Director for Information will be the member-secretary for both the committees.
