DRDO selection test
The Scientists Entry Test (SET) is scheduled to be held on September 2, 2007, for selection of over 500 scientists into the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The DRDO’s Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) selects over 500 engineers and scientists annually through the SET, besides campus selection processes. The RAC has hired over 2,000 scientists / engineers in varied science and engineering disciplines. These include physics, chemistry and mathematics, to engineering disciplines like aeronautics, electronics, mechanical, computer science, chemical and metallurgy in addition to several others. Apart from the SET, the DRDO has other programmes to recruit experienced and qualified scientists.

Degree in space science
Under the initiative of the ISRO, students now have a chance to notch an engineering degree in a very new and exciting field - that of space sciences. Open to students who have completed their pre-university education, and have their names on the IIT-JEE extended list, this course offers degrees in avionics, aeronautics and space science.
There is no course fee at all for the whole five year period. Only a commitment that on passing out, the student will work for five years at ISRO.
