Eradicating child labour requires cooperation from all factions of society, opined Joint Commissioner of Labour Department, K S Manjunath.

Speaking at a meeting on Tuesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office auditorium,  he called for public debate to tackle the issue.

UNICEF officer Sudha Murali, who spoke on this occasion, said that organisations that employ child labourers must be informed to the district committees.

There are several instances when students from Child labour schools have scored high marks in SSLC, she said and called for more publicity in this regard. Deputy Commissioner Dr Ravishankar, DIG Guruprasad and other officers were present at the meeting.
