A private bus operator here has offered to issue free bus passes for the benefit of rural students. In a press release, Gururagavendra Motor Service Proprietor B Janardan Prabu said that the bus passes can be used on the following bus routes:
Somwarpet, Shaniwarsanthe, Kodlipet, Alur, Siddapur and Hebbale. To avail the bus passes, the college students will have to pay a sum of Rs 1,000 per year while the high school students will have to pay Rs 600 per year. The scheme is valid between June 2007 and March 2008, he added.
The applications for the passes will be available from June 20 at Vijaya Automobiles, Mahila Samaja Complex, I B Road (Opp Forest Office), Kushalnagar.
