Unusual, stylish and out-of-the-ordinary accessories comprise the signature designs of seven students of an Institute of Fashion Technology, Vogue.
Assigned as a project for the annual fashion show of the institute, the students took the opportunity to showcase innovative designs for the event. Themes like Cleopatra based on leather, Awareness based on jute and Power of Bramha based on precious metal and stones were some of the interesting themes dealt with during the event.
Cleopatra, an inspiration from the golden treasures of Eygptian civilisation is made of leather. A combination in beads shares a mood that is royal as well as mysterious. Small and large necklaces which use golden leather as a base, brown leather for floral motifs and red leather for heart motifs are attractive.
A crown made of golden leather with brown, turquoise beads and kundan flowers comes with a choker filled with beads in red, golden and lapis lazili. The same goes for bangles with floral motifs.
The collection in jute is aimed at those who are adventurous-minded. Dyed jute in dark mustard and reddish brown colours as the basic duo has white pearls with a combination of dark brown for curves, and white wooden beads for linings. The earrings are also made of dyed jute. The design can be worn with all dresses.
Creativity in nature, a theme inspired by Lord Brahma is designed from precious metal and stones. Gold depicts the main golden face of Brahma indicating that the Lord is active when involved in the process of creation. Stones like sky-blue coloured synthetic stones representing the grace of Lord Brahma come like water flow represented as curves in the necklace.
The shells representing divinity is enamelled with white colour enamel. The four directions of the sun represent the omnipresence and omnipotence of Lord Brahma. The lotus inside the sun represents beauty and the fragrance of earth and the throne of Lord Brahma.
These creations were individually designed by Pooja, Anurevathi and Siddharth G Revankar of the institute’s jewellery department.
