Steve Harmison, the England paceman, is planning to delay a hernia surgery to keep himself available for the three-Test series against India beginning on July 19. The pacer, struggling with poor form, said he would delay the surgery if he did not encounter problems bowling in county matches before then.

Amelie Mauresmo, the Wimbledon women’s champion, is healthy and ready to defend her title. The fourth-ranked Frenchman, who injured her groin and lost in the third round of the French Open, has said she is feeling much better. “I did not touch the racquet for ten days, but I am fine now.”
