Aiming a growth of 50 per cent in the lifestyle computing market this fiscal, HP, on Thursday, expanded its portfolio to bring in the ‘Oomph’ factor by launching new products including desktops, notebooks and handheld devices at various price points.
HP, which has an overall market share of 21.2 per cent in the personal computer space and 40 per cent in the portable segment, has introduced ‘Oomph’ product range HP Pavilion entertainment series notebook computers ‘Dragon’ priced at Rs 1.11 lakh. It offers multimedia facility for watching movies, editing videos and gaming doing the job of a Home Theatre. It also offers internet connections.
HP TouchSmart Notebook is priced at Rs 1 lakh with its high performance speaker and microphone, 320 GB storage space and Photosmart for the digital lifestyle.
Voice messenger
The company also launched slim PC, which a third of the normal PC and ensures space saving, music, videos, TV and games priced at Rs 40,000. The HP iPAQ voice messenger has Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 with push mail and office applications, built-in-camera, MP3 players and video recorder. Priced at Rs 14,000, the user does not have to type or voice the e-mail.
The Messenger will reply to send voice e-mail responses as well as read out SMSs and e-mails. These PCs will be available from next week. “The introduction of new range strengthens our wide-ranging portfolio and will help us grow the lifestyle portfolio and will help us grow in this market by 50 per cent within this fiscal”, said HP India Personal Systems Group President Ravi Swaminathan.
