HP’s “Green” technology
HP on Wednesday introduced “green” storage technology that, according to the company, can cut storage array power and cooling costs in data centers by 50 per cent. The offerings include thin provisioning and performance enhancements for the HP storageworks enterprise virtual array family, tape drives based on the linear tape open 4 standard, new DAT 160 tape drives for SMBs, and the first HP storageworks tape product developed for HP bladesystem c-class enclosures.
SyndBank plans new scheme
Syndicate Bank announced in Bangalore on Thursday that it is now gearing up to launch “SyndSmallCredit” a loan product tied with the newly re-launched Pigmy Deposit scheme called “Pigmy plus 2007”. Thenew product is for providing financial assistance upto Rs 1.50 lakh to the customers of small means, to meet their credit requirements, with added doorstep banking facility. It also provides flexibility to the customers where they can contribute to the account at varied amounts as per convenience.
Cambridge Sols’ impressive result
Cambridge Solutions on Wednesday reported Rs 1,469.8 crore in consolidated revenues for the year ended March 31, 2007, a growth of 24.5 per cent y-o-y. For the financial year 2007, consolidated earnings before interest, depreciation, amortization and tax was Rs 142.6 cr up 43.9 pc, compared to Rs 99.1 crore last year.
Viteos, Credit Suisse join hands
Credit Suisse announced on Thursday that it has struck a partnership with Viteos Capital Market Services, an independent provider of hedge fund administration services, to provide the vendor’s services to its prime brokerage clients. Credit Suisse also took a minority stake in Viteos as part of the deal.
Tata Indicom’s eWidex solution
Tata Teleservices on Thursday in Bangalore launched eWidex, an enterprise solution that can widen an organisation’s reach across different locations in the country and by doing away with a PABX. There is no additional cost on floor area, systems replacement, operation and maintenance. The customer only has to pay the rental and call charges on the number of lines.

HDIL plans Rs 1500 cr IPO
Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) on Thursday announced in Mumbai the price band between Rs 430–500 per share of Rs 10 each for its IPO slated to open on June 28 and close on July 3, 2007. The issue also has a green-shoe option of 4.45 million shares. The company seeks to raise around Rs 1500 cr by offering 29.70 million shares. The IPO proceeds works out to Rs 1,485 cr at upper end of the price band.
HCG gets $5 m from Evolvence
Health Care Global Enterprises (HCG), a cancer treatment services provider, has obtained $5 million in financing from Evolvence India Life Sciences Fund - a private equity fund that provides growth capital for life sciences businesses in India. HCG currently owns and manages eight cancer care centres in India. The funding will help HCG extend its network of oncology centres in India.
CII to organise Brand Summit
The CII Institute of Quality, announced in Bangalore on Thursday its Retail Brand 2007 Summit. The Summit will be held from July 05-06, 2007 in Mumbai is to highlight the importance of retail branding in the organized retail sector in India. The Summit will witness participation from firms such as Subhiksha, RPG, Reliance, etc.
