The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation will commence issue of student concessional passes for first and second pre-university students from Monday, June 25 at 31 centres spread across the city between 8 am and 6 pm and from 8 am to 9 pm at Kempegowda Bus Terminus, on all  weekdays, except Sundays.

BMTC has meanwhile extended the validity of its 2006-07 student concessional passes up to August 10, taking note of likely procedural delays in issue of ‘Smart Cards’ this academic year.

It has also decided to permit new students to travel between their residence and educational institutions on the basis of tution fee receipts for the current academic year by getting them duly attested at any of the pass issue counters.

Students are also permitted to travel between residence and educational institutions on the basis of attested BMTC concessional passes fee receipt for the year 2007-08.

The above concessions are being offered to students to obtain new passes for the current year before August 10.
