IISC global meet from today

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Global Conference 2007 will be organised by the IISc alumni between June 22 and 24, at the Marriott Hotel, Santa Clara, California, USA.

In its inaugural year, the conference’s theme is ‘Platform for collaboration over innovation in science and technology’.

Eminent scientists, industry veterans, technologists, government officials and IISc researchers will come together for the conference, that will be inaugurated via a video address by President A P J Abdul Kalam.

The panel sessions on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Life Sciences, Management of Technology and Education for Innovation and Sustainable Development will feature keynotes from Nobel Laureate and Venture Capitalist Arno Penzias, Applied Materials Chairman James Morgan, Boeing CTO Robert Krieger, Government of India Principal Scientific Officer Dr R Chidambaram and IISc Director Prof Balram.

Sessions
Discussion sessions will be held to create a platform for collaboration among IISc, US universities and industries.

The conference will feature interactive sessions on knowledge sciences, Bio-Technology, health care, Nanotechnology and aerospace technologies.
