The Alliance Francaise network in collaboration with the Embassy of France in India is presenting the concert, “French Kiss”, on June 26 at Alliance Francaise at 7 pm.
The concert features three women artistes, Mademoiselle K, Anais and Emily Loizeau, presenting the best of new age pop and rock from France. The three artistes are among the most popular recording and performing artistes in France today.
The French Kiss project highlights the specificity of a feminine and original musical performance wherein the diversity of styles reflects the dynamism of the young French song writers and composers.
Mademoiselle K (25) has 12 tracks in the can, plenty of live work and looks like a Pretenders-era Chrissie Hynde-style rocker - all black hair, sultry looks, leather jackets, jeans and cowboy boots.
Anais was the lead singer, lyricist and bass guitarist in Opossum from 1999 to late 2002 when the renowned band split after 200 gigs in France, Switzerland and Germany.
Anais then went on a successful solo tour (March 2003) with personal songs full of wit and energy.
Emily Loizeau began to learn piano when she was five and after studying classical music for many years, she dedicated three years to theatre, assisting composer and stage manager Georges Aperghis.
In Bangalore the French artistes will share the stage with The Raghu Dixit Project comprising Raghu Dixit (guitarist-singer-composer-songwriter), Balaji (violinist), Sandeep (flautist), Rudy (guitars), Siva (drummer), Bruce Lee Mani (vocals, guitars), Anirban Chakravarthy (guitars), Gaurav Vaz (guitars) and Rahul Pophali (percussions, table).
