A meeting on educational problems and conditions of schools in the border regions was held by the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, at the Karnataka Sahitya Sangha in the City on Thursday. Director of Public Instruction Meer Ubedulla presided over the meeting.
The meeting discussed at length about the measures required to be taken to improve the Kannada medium schools in the border regions.
President of the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Dr Jagannath Hebbale, President of the Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat Shabhulinga Kamanna, Sanjeevkumar Jumma, Gurunath Akkanna, Panchakshari Punyashetty, Hanumanthappa Patil, Prof S B Biradar, Nijalingappa Tagare, Dr Basavaraj Ballur, Purnima G, Dr Prema Sirse, Shivakumar Nagavar, Devendra Karanje, Yogendra Yadalapure and others attended the meeting.
On the occasion, Mr Meer Ubedulla was felicitated by the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat. Ms Meena Boralkar has been appointed as the president of the Humnabad Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, which was presided by its President Dr Jagannath Hebbale.
Since, the KSP meeting which was held in Humnabad recently, did not arrive at a consensus in this regard, this decision was taken by the executive committee of the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
