A pedestrian was killed on the spot at Thokkotu junction on the outskirts of the City on Thursday night.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Ramesh Bangera (47). The mishap occurred when a Maruthi car knocked him down. The identity of the car driver is not yet known as he has fled the scene soon after the mishap. A case has been registered.

Decamped

Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house and decamped with mobile sets and watch worth Rs 17,750 at Bonnur in Puttur.

According to police, they gained entry into the house by breaking open the backdoor.
