‘Russia Crushed
Revolt In Hungary’
Oslo, June 22.

Prime Minister Nehru said here today that the revolution in Hungary last autumn was in general a national uprising and there was no doubt it was suppressed by Soviet troops. Pandit Nehru was addressing a Press conference before leaving Oslo after a three-day visit. He said the Hungarian revolution was one of the greatest tragedies of our times.

US To Slash Its Forces In Japan
Washington, June 22.

President Eisenhower announced in a joint communique with Mr Nobusuke Kishi, the Japanese Prime Minister, that the United States would substantially reduce the number of its security forces in Japan within the next year, including a prompt withdrawal of all its ground combat forces.

Bombay:17 Killed

Bombay, June 22

At least 17 persons were killed and 30 others injured when an Air-India Boeing 707 crashed at the Sahar International Airport, Bombay, early this morning. The tragedy occurred at 4.36 am when Air-India’s oldest Boeing 707 Gauri Shankar, coming from Singapore with 111 persons on board, skidded and overshot the runway and crashed into a wall.
