I am 20 years old with thick, long, silky hair. From the past few months I have been suffering from the problem of lice in my hair. I have severe itching, due to which I constantly keep scratching my scalp. This has led to wounds on my scalp and at times they bleed. I have also started losing a lot of hair. Please suggest a permanent cure for lice.
Once lice infection is confirmed, there are a number of treatments available: insecticides like malathion, permethrin, etc., thorough and frequent combing and alternative treatments with herbal extracts, essential oils, etc. Thorough and frequent combing is a method of removing lice with the regular use of a fine-toothed comb (teeth 0.2-0.3mm apart). Historically, the main method for getting rid of lice has been mechanical, physically removing the nits, or 'nit-picking.'
Whichever treatment is used, a follow-up check using a nit comb should be carried out a few days after the course of treatment. The best way to prevent lice spreading is to check your family's scalps regularly and treat them as soon as live lice are found.
I suffer from mouth ulcers frequently. I use gels and tablets, but don't find any relief. I have even consulted many doctors. Please suggest a remedy.
Most mouth ulcers are harmless and resolve by themselves in a few days. Other types of mouth ulcers, such as the aphthous variety or those caused by herpes simplex infection, need medical treatment. Treatment options include avoiding spicy and sour foods until the ulcers heal, drinking plenty of fluids, regularly rinsing your mouth with warm, salted water, keeping the mouth clean, applying antiseptic gel to the ulcers and using a medicated mouthwash as advised by a physician.
Prevention tips are: brush your teeth atleast twice everyday, floss regularly, visit your dentist regularly, brush your teeth very gently, take care not to slip with the brush, and eat a well balanced and nutritious diet.
I am a 20 year old male. I have black structures on my my shoulders which look ugly. Please suggest a remedy.
The black structures on your shoulders can be due to various reasons such as pimples, sweat rash, bacterial infection, etc. Please consult a dermatologist so that various reasons can be analysed by visualising the skin lesions and appropriately managed.
