Director S Narayan and actor Ganesh have come together for the first time in Cheluvina Chittara.
A remake of Tamil film Kaadhal (2005), directed by Balaji Shaktivel, Cheluvina Chittara is quite unlike the
present run-of-the-mill stuffs.
As a story of teenage infatuation, love, and humaneness,Kadal, had indeed created a magic which reflected in its box office collections. Narayan, trying to recreate the magic of Shaktivel and Co, faithfully retells the story to Kannada audience minus subtlety and effectiveness.
In fact, original story was a romance intelligently mixed with nativity. Shaktivel had chosen Madurai for his story and Narayan has selected T Narasipur.
Narayan’s attempt does not do any wonders here like Shaktivel’s did there.
Ganeshwho is riding on the success of Mungaru Male, on his part, has tried to do well.
However, his fans may fell this role is not cut out for him. Newcomer Amoolya only looks good.
Manomurthy’s music just passes through the ears. Ultimately, it requires more than a new pair, language
and place to transpose a story from one nativity to another.
