It's a cricket storywith shades of believe-itor-not. But you ignore the flaws for two reasons:
one, it's a children's movie and two,one really wishes that Team India wins at least amatch.
Half of the movie Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii is played out in an orphanage while the other half happens in
the crease.
A few laughs, some message and lots of sixers make Chain KuliiKi Main Kulii an okay fare for kids.
As usual, Team India is losing every match it plays (quite believable) and the coach goes in search of younger blood.
His latest finding is Karan (Zain Khan), an orphan.
At 13, he becomes the "batbone" of the Indian X1. The other team is, by default, Pakistan.
The Waseems and Khans are sent on a leather hunt to all parts of the ground once Karan takes his position.
Rahul Bose plays the Mr Reliable Indian captain, who maintains a delightful "not-out" status all through the
movie.
Bose had proved his acting skills long ago and here, he leaves the stage to Zain Khan. The child is a darling.
He convincingly plays the innocent and intelligent orphan, who pines for parents but can handle life even
without them.
The director Kituu Salooja does not believe in glycerin, but manages to give some poignant scenes withoutmuch
drama.
A good, if not great, watch for children. One only wishes that the Indian team finds a wonder kid.
