DH News Service, Mangalore:

Monsoon has gone furious. All evil features of a rainy season have occurred in the undivided Dakshina Kannada in the heavy rains and strong winds that have been lashing since Friday night and continued throughout Saturday.

Netravathi, Kumaradhara, Gurupura and other important rivers of the district are overflowing with muddy water, while the lower areas have started facing the threat of artificial floods.

Arabian Sea is exhibiting all its fury in Sasihitlu, Naguru, Maravante, while some more houses are facing threat of being pushed into the turbulent sea in Ullal, Kotekar, Mogaveerapatna and Mukkaccheri areas.

Traffic

Vehicular traffic has been disrupted on Mangalore-Bangalore, Udupi-Shimoga, Chikmagalur-Dharmasthala routes. All pilgrims going to Kukke Subrahmanya Temple have got stuck midway as many of the bridges between Uppinangady and Subrahmanya have submerged.
