Govindapura, a hamlet in Kadur taluk comes under Birur constituency is devoid of basic facilities. The village do not have health centre nor any public transport system. People have to depend on own vehicles or cycle or autorickshaw to reach the nearest town.
The village has been totally neglected by the local MLA. The village has 65 houses with 500 population belonging to Lambani, Sarpagowda and Telugugowda community.
The village comes under Saraswathipura gram panchayat limits. Though the village is 3 kms from Gram panchayat, neither Gram Panchayat members nor the Zilla Panchayat members are responding to the problems of the villagers.
A transformer in the village is burnt a month ago. Now the villagers are living in darkness. Though the village has 3 borewells, two are not in good condition. As a result villagers are suffering from shortage of drinking water.
They have to depend on private water suppliers. Even the drinking water, road, drainage and electricity are a distant dream for the villagers. The villagers are waiting for the GP and ZP members to respond to their problems and find a permanent solution to it.
