After putting up a fight in style for about four years, a man in Jharkhand has reportedly given his nod to solemnise marriage now on the fulfilment of his long pending demand for the construction of a road in his village.
According to reports, a school teacher from Baregram village under Burmu block of Ranchi district, Shamim Barehar, on Sunday presented a different look with beard shaven off and hair bobbed in an attractive style. He has again given to consent for marriage.
Shamim, however, had a different tale to tell over a week back. A teacher by profession, Shamim was sore over the poor intergration of his village by road and in protest took a vow in 2003 that he would neither solemnise marriage nor cut his hair or shave his beard until his demand for the construction of Bade Thakurgaon road was fulfiled.
Shamim’s effort finally bore fruit when Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay heard about his unique vow from his party representative and finally work started for the construction of the road about a fortnight back.
