HLL is Hindustan Unilever Ltd
Hindustan Lever Limited, on Monday, announced that it has obtained approval from the government for the change of the company name to Hindustan Unilever Limited.
With this the company’s new corporate identity represented by a new logo and new name Hindustan Unilever Limited comes into effect. The shareholders of the company had earlier approved the proposal for change of name. The Company believes that the new name provides optimum balance between maintaining the heritage of the company and synergies of global alignment with the corporate name of Unilever. Most importantly the name retains “Hindustan” as first word in its name to reflect the company’s continued commitment to local economy, consumers, partners and employees. The new logo is symbolic of company’s mission of ‘Adding Vitality to life’. It comprises of 25 different icons representing the organisation, its brands and idea of vitality.
Satyam extends Nestle alliance
Satyam Computer Services Ltd, a leading global consulting and information technology services company, on Monday, announced that it has been awarded a three-year contract extension by Nestle Corporation, the largest food and beverage company in the world.
Satyam is working with Nestle to establish global business practices based on a common technology platform, a key component of the company’s Global Business Excellence project. Satyam will provide services ranging from software development, maintenance, and support to infrastructure management.
The number of Satyam consultants working for Nestle is expected to grow close to 500 over the next year. Nestle operates 500 factories in 85 countries and employs over 250,000 people worldwide.
Seiko plans brand stores in India
Leading global watch manufacturer Seiko Watch Corporation of Japan, on Monday, announced its decision to set up an exclusive flagship store in India as part of its plan for an aggressive foray in the premium and luxury segment.
“We’ll begin with one brand store this year in one of the metros that will showcase our entire product range,” Seiko Head (Sales) Nilandri Mazumder told reporters here. We intend to come up with such flagship stores in 11 other cities in the next three years.”
Initially, Seiko will set up six stores in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata followed by Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Ludhiana and Cochin. Seiko will also tie up with nearly 50 multi-brand premium watch outlets across India to push for sales growth.
