Around Bangalore rural district on rail! This is a proposal of Member of Parliament from Kanakapura Tejaswini Sriramesh.
Talking to reporters in Bangalore on Monday, Ms Sriramesh said that she has presented a proposal in this regard to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy besides also raising it in the Parliament.
She said the existing rail link between Bangalore and Mysore, which passes through Ramanagara and Channapatna, can be used to build a rail network connecting various famous tourist destinations in the rural district.
This would be a benefitting tribute to former chief minister Kengal Hanumanthaiah, who had also served as the union railway minister, on his birth centenary year (2008), she said. Kengal and other tourists destinations like Savanadurga, Manchina Bele, Mekedatu, Rocks of Ramanagara, Shivagange, could be links to create a “Pravasi Rail” for promoting tourism in the district, she said.
