Rain: 225 electric poles damaged

As many as 225 electric poles and thousand metres of electric wires have been destroyed in the heavy rains that lashed Moodigere taluk, said Mescom Engineer Arakesh. 

Speaking to presspersons, he said several machines have been damaged in the sub-stations.

Government First Grade College building has been completely damaged in the town.

A bridge at Gonibeedu has been submerged. Banana plantations, paddy fields, arecanut trees have been completely submerged in the taluk. As many as 22 houses have been partially destroyed in the taluk. The houses of Sargod and Thathkola evacuees have been damaged.
