Horticulture Department has asked the farmers to obtain the benefits of National Horticulture Mission (NHM) under its various categories.
According to the scheme, the mango growers can obtain Rs 22,500 per hectare in three installments as a financial assistance. Similarly, under the saffodilla extension scheme, farmers can get Rs 22,500 per one hectare of safodilla in three different installments, a release from the Horticulture Department stated.
Further, farmers can also obtain Rs 15,000 per one hectare of banana plantation in two separate installments, under the banana crop extension programme of the NHM.
This apart, there are also provisions to distribute copper sulphate to the areca growers with 50 per cent subsidy.As per the plant protectives distribution scheme, pesticides up to Rs 500 cost will be supplied to the farmers with 50 per cent subsidy, the release added.
