The court has upheld the election of Mr C N Shetty as the president of Kanara Small Scale Industries’ Association in Baikampady.

Informing this to media on Tuesday, Mr Shetty said the 2nd Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division), Mangalore has rejected the petition filed by K Ramachandra Bhat and others and upheld the governing body led by Mr Shetty as valid.

“The court has observed that the postponement of the annual general body meeting of the Association and dismissal of the election officer on September 30, 2006 are illegal. The court has upheld the act of the election officer D H Shetty and has ordered that the governing body headed by C N Shetty should continue,” he stated.

Hence, the valid body consists C N Shetty (President), K A Narayan Bhat (Vice-President), M Govind Bhat (Secretary), M Lingappa (Treasurer), Claret D’Souza, Sharatchandra Shetty, Bharat Kumar, Srinivas Achar, Dayanand Rai, S S Shettigar, Hemanth Kumar, Mumtaz Ali, Radhakrishna Khandige, Najeer B A, Ramesh Rao (members), Ullas Shetty, M J Shetty, K S Kamat and Ramachandra Shetty (nominated members), Mr Shetty informed.
