Pirated books worth Rs 40 lakh seized

The CCB sleuths seized pirated books worth Rs 40 lakh in the City and arrested two persons on Tuesday.
Popular titles like Mario Puzo’s ‘The God father’,  Chetan Bhagath’s ‘One night at the call centre’, Stefan R Covey’s ‘The seven habits of highly effective people’, Dan Brown’s ‘Deception Point’ and ‘Da Vinci Code’, Jon Grisham’s ‘The Innocent Man’, Joseph Murphy’s ‘The power of your sub-conscious mind’, Sandra Brown’s ‘Unspeakable’, Robert Ludnum’s ‘The Bancrovt Strategy’, J K Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter’,  and C N Shankar Rao’s ‘Bharateeya Samaja’.
The arrested are: Nawab Jaan (23) and Balachandar (23). Printing machines, papers and other equipment has been seized. DCP B R Ravikanthe Gowda supervised the operation that was carried out by ACP M D Diwakar and his team.

Taxi driver murdered

A 33-year-old taxi driver was stabbed and hanged to death at his Agrahara Dasarhalli residence in Kamakshipalya police station limits on Wednesday.
Miscreants cut Kumaraswamy's stomach and hanged from the ceiling fan, police said.
They feel the crime was committed out of vengeance. Kumaraswamy has a 10-year-old son. His marriage was on the rocks and the couple used to have frequent fights.
