Kodagu Muslim Samyukta Jamayath has extended its support to the proposed Kodagu bundh call given by the Baane Hakku Samrakshana Samithi on July 2 to urge the government to withdraw the circular on the Jamma Baane land.
Addressing a press meet, former MLA K M Ibrahim said the circular denies farmer’s rights over the Jamma lands. It is an injustice to the people of Kodagu who have been enjoying Jamma Baane land for the past 300 years.
He said Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar has urged the Principle Secretary of Revenue Department S M Jaamadar to withdraw the circular. But it has not been withdrawn so far.
