In a sudden development, students of Government High School of Gabasavalagi in Sindagi taluk of Bijapur district locked-up the school, recently. They were protesting the alleged sexual harassment by the teachers.
The students told Deccan Herald that they would boycott classes till those involved in the incident were not transferred.
Teachers who were supposed to impart knowledge and instill confidence among students, were said to be harassing girl students in the classroom by provoking them, the students charged.
Meanwhile, village elders urged education coordinator K J Rathod to bring back the headmaster of the high school, who had been deputed to Bijapur four years ago.
