Suez Settlement On UN Ideals
London, June 27.
The Commonwealth Prime Ministers - representing 10 nations and about 600 million people - this afternoon concluded a lengthy analysis of Middle East affairs following last year’s Suez crisis.
According to conference sources, a number of the statesmen reflected the view that the general situation in the Arab world had improved considerably since the last Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ conference here a year ago.
Interest To Be Free Of Income Tax
New Delhi, June 27.
The Government of India propose to exempt hereafter from Income-tax interest on large credits approved by Government and provided by foreign banks to Indian industries and whose repayment is spread over a period of not less than five years, it was officially stated here.

Repair Work On Dam Proceeding

Bangalore, June 27.
Major repair work on the Bhadra Dam is proceeding briskly and engineers are confident that the entire repair work would be completed by December this year. The government’s achievement here appears to be conducting of the work without depleting the reservoir waters which would have resulted in a loss of Rs 50 crore worth of crops.
