Mr Jagadish, the education officer in the office of the Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI), has been deputed as the in-charge DDPI of Dakshina Kannada.
Meanwhile, District Adult Education Officer Kodandaram and Akshara Dasoha official Dayavathi have been appointed as the in-charge Block Education Officers (BEOs) of Mangalore City and Rural blocks respectively, said Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer A M Kunjappa on Thursday.
The posts fell vacant as the previous DDPI Shankarappa and other two BEOs Walter D’Mello (Mangalore City) and Govinda Madivala (rural) had been suspended on the charges of producing wrong reports to the government regarding the medium of instruction in some of the schools.
“The officials had reported that no schools in the district teach in English which actually obtained permission for Kannada medium. But a special investigation team appointed by the government found out that the information provided in this regard was wrong,” the CEO stated.
